Meet Meetu Chhabra

Founder & CEO, Maths in Hands

Hi, I’m Meetu Chhabra — a dedicated mathematics educator and the proud Gold Medallist in Mathematics, having secured first place in the state during my master’s degree. I also hold a Master’s in Secondary Teaching, and since 2009, I’ve been teaching and tutoring students in Years 7–12 across private, Catholic, and public schools in Sydney.

With over 15 years of experience, I’ve seen how students respond to different teaching methods — and one thing is clear: hands-on learning transforms the way they understand maths. While traditional, paper-based lessons often leave students disengaged, hands-on activities spark curiosity, build deeper understanding, and foster a love for problem-solving.

After COVID, as technology became the focus in classrooms, many hands-on tools quietly disappeared. I noticed students were rushing to get the “final answer” instead of exploring the “how” and “why” behind it. This shift motivated me to launch Maths in Hands — a program dedicated to bringing maths back into students' hands, making it active, visual, and truly engaging.

My mission is to help students rediscover their confidence in mathematics by turning learning into a fun, interactive journey. Join me in transforming the way students experience maths — through creativity, connection, and problem-solving!

Over the years, I have noticed that many students struggle with traditional, paper-based maths lessons. However, when given hands-on activities, they not only grasp concepts better but also develop a genuine interest in problem-solving. learning becomes meaningful, interactive, and enjoyable.

After COVID, with schools increasingly relying on technology, hands-on materials have been disappearing from classrooms. As a result, many students now focus solely on final answers rather than understanding the process. This inspired me to create Maths in Hands—a program designed to bring problem-solving to life through interactive workshops. My goal is to boost students’ confidence in maths by making learning an engaging, hands-on experience.
